You have birthed your baby, and now you are nestled together, skin-to-skin, in the “golden hour” — a time of intimate bonding, nourishment, and quiet presence. This marks the beginning of the sacred postpartum.

As you rest and restore, your baby connects with you heart-to-heart. This is a precious, essential time for full nourishment — through the umbilical cord, skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding (colostrum), and the sanctuary of an oxytocin-filled space.

In your own time, the placenta will be birthed. You will have already planned how to honor this sacred organ, which has nourished and sustained your baby, marking the beginnings of your postpartum journey.

During recovery, your team will support you according to your chosen postpartum plan:

Your postpartum support team may include your doula, family, or friends, all attuned to your needs and boundaries, assisting with chores, childcare, or tasks while respecting your space.

Over the days following birth, you may wish to journal your experience while it remains fresh, capturing your reflections and insights.

This is a sacred time for you, your baby, and your partner — a period to bond, connect, and nurture. You are held, supported, and tended to in every way, so that you may step into your role as a mother feeling nourished, restored, and fully prepared.
